Star Gazing Oracle - Full Moon Edition
July 3, 2023, Supermoon
The July moon is most commonly known as the "Stag Moon" which honors the velvet covered antlers that the bucks are currently in full swing of growing.
But did you know moons do not just have one name? The names we know the moon for come from our ancestors, mainly various Native American tribes and often more colloquial understandings of our natural world's phases and the cycles of the land. To some tribes, the July moon was known as the "Berry Moon" as when the berries are all ripening (Anishinaabe), the "Thunder Moon" for when the skies storm (Western Abenaki), and in many places the "Hay Moon" for when the first hay harvest should be done.
This particular "Star Gazing Oracle" honors The Thunder Moon. Handmade out of sterling and fine silver, this piece offers a rising ornate moon cradling a special stone. This smaller moon is what is known as spurrite, in honor of the thundering lightning skies. It is a very unique purple, vibrant and saturated, with streaks of lighting across its face.
This particular ring measures approximately 1" x 1" and weighs approximately .50 ounces in total. It is a size 8 resting on a decorative split band as shown above.
I'm sorry but unfortunately I do not resize pieces.
As always, stones are ethically sourced and artisan cut.
Each item is individual and handmade meaning no production lines are found at Dark Fawn. In this inherent nature, each piece will feature "imperfections" as the evidence of the individual eye and human touch each piece receives; making them all the more unique, ever more valuable and filled with energy! I also offer a lifetime guarantee on the blackened patina. If in the future, the patina wears off (as is the nature of it, giving it a more aged look as time goes on), simply send the ring back to me and I will re-blacken it for free. Did I leave anything out? Please check out my FAQ!
