An Oak is a reminder that the greatest things often have small and humble beginnings.
These stems of great grand oaks were collected on such a journey. I wanted to make a talisman of the wood so you could carry a bit of the spirit of an ancient forest with you.
Small branches of oak with tiny acorns, bails formed by tiny mushrooms with sparkling "gems" accompanied by a single, dangling oak leaf. All have been cast with meticulous detail from the real thing into solid silver.
This particular one weighs approximately .70 ounces in total and is strung on a long and layering 29" long brass chain as shown above.
